How Weather Monitoring System Works? Block Diagram
A weather monitoring system is a setup or system that helps us check and understand the weather around us. It uses electronic devices and sensors to measure things like temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, and air pressure.
The system collects this data and studies it to give us accurate weather reports, alerts, and climate information. These systems help us plan our daily activities, stay safe during bad weather, and support scientists in learning more about the Earth's climate.
In this article, we are going to understand how a weather monitoring system works with a block diagram. This block diagram will help to understand how everything is connected and functions.

As you can see in the above block diagram, the weather monitoring system has the following parts, devices, and components,
Sensors:
In a weather monitoring system, different sensors are used to collect weather information like temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, and rainfall. Examples of some common sensors are thermometers, hygrometers, barometers, anemometers, and rain gauges. These sensors measure physical changes and turn them into electrical signals for the system to read.
Power Supply:
The power supply unit provides the power supply to each part of the system as per requirement.
Data Acquisition System:
This part collects the signals from the sensors and changes them into digital data that the system can understand. It includes parts like signal converters and circuits to prepare the signals.
Controlling Unit (Microcontroller/Processor):
This is the main part of the system. It controls everything, receives data from the sensors, and processes it so it can be shown or used.
Communication Interface:
This helps to connect the system to other devices to send weather data. It can use Wi-Fi, GSM, Ethernet, or radio signals.
Display Unit/User Interface:
This shows the weather data in a simple way that people can read. It might be an LCD screen, LED display, or a mobile/computer app.
Alarm System:
This alerts people when the weather becomes dangerous or crosses set limits. It can use sounds, lights, or send messages to phones or other devices.
Data Storage:
This part saves the weather data so it can be checked or analyzed later.
