Its, Base terminal is connected to the 'P' Type material whereas the emitter and collector are connected to the 'N' type material. Now, the question is how to identify the terminal of the transistor. It is very simple. For this transistor, keep the flat side of the transistor towards your face. The transistor BC557 is a PNP transistor. It has three terminals - 1. Collector 2. Base 3. Emitter
Its base terminal is connected to the 'N' type material whereas the emitter and collector terminal is connected to the 'P' type material. It is a three-layer, two-junction transistor. When you keep the flat side of the transistor towards your face, the left-side terminal will be the Collector, the middle terminal will be the Base and the right-side terminal will be the Emitter.
