Exclusive OR [XOR] Gate

Exclusive OR (XOR) Gate is a Logical Gate that gives a High Output signal when the no. of the High input signal is odd. Basically, the XOR Gate has two input terminals and one output terminal. The more than two input terminals XOR Gate is also available. Today we are going to discuss the Truth Table, Internal circuit, and Symbol of XOR Gate.

As I told before that the XOR gate gives a high output signal when the no. of the high input signal is odd. Let's understand. In a two-input XOR Gate when only one input is high then the output will be high otherwise the output will be low.

If you see the truth table then you will understand easily the operation of the XOR Gate.

According to the truth table of the two input XOR gate,

1.      When both inputs A and B are low then the output of the XOR Gate will be low.

2.      When Input A is low and B is high then the output will be high.

3.      When the input A is high and B is low then the output will be high.

4.      When both inputs A and B is High then the output will be low.
